Meet Cindy Reasor

Relationship to HPP: I have HPP. Both of my adult daughters and two granddaughters also have this condition.

Joined: I joined the Soft Bones group in 2014 and began volunteering in 2017. I took on key roles, including moderating the Facebook pages and talking to new patients when needed. I also became a Region Lead for the Midwest and served on the Fundraising Committee. In October of 2021, I joined the team as a staff member and continued this work.

What do you want the world to know about HPP? HPP is a genetic disease with a very wide range of presentation and symptoms. The multi-systemic impact on patients is still not well understood.

What motivates you to be a part of this community? Soft Bones changed my life for the better. Now that I am able, I want to give back and help others the way they helped me. My primary goal is to make things better for my family and others affected by HPP, somehow, someway.

What is your favorite quote? “When you’re at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on” – Theodore Roosevelt

What is one fun fact about yourself? I used to be a farm girl and showed sheep all over the Midwest.
